1. Your Photograph

When you submit a photograph, you grant Hound & Hudson a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use it solely to create and fulfill your book. This includes reviewing the photograph, creating personalized artwork, printing and binding the book, arranging delivery, and providing customer support related to your order.

We do not use customer photographs for marketing or display without your explicit written permission. We do not sell customer photographs. We may disclose photographs and related order information only to service providers acting on our behalf, as necessary for photo review, artwork creation, printing and binding, payment processing, customer support, website operations, and delivery.

You represent and warrant that you own the photograph or otherwise have all rights and permissions necessary to submit it, and that it does not infringe or violate the intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights of any person or third party. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hound & Hudson from any claim, demand, damage, or cost (including reasonable legal fees) arising from a photograph you submit, including any claim that it infringes the rights of a third party.

2. Your Personalized Book

You own the physical book you purchase. Hound & Hudson owns all intellectual property rights in the artwork, captions, designs, and other content created for your book.

You may display your book, give it as a gift, and photograph or share it on personal social media. You may not reproduce, sell, or use the artwork for commercial purposes without our prior written permission.

3. Pricing & Payment

All prices are in U.S. dollars unless otherwise noted. Shipping charges, sales tax, and any applicable fees are shown at checkout.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store complete payment card numbers.

Sales tax is added where required by law. Customs duties, import taxes, and similar charges for international orders are the recipient’s responsibility unless otherwise stated at checkout.

4. Production, Shipping, and Final Sales

Each Hound & Hudson book is made to order, and production may begin immediately after an order is placed. Except as required by applicable law, orders cannot be canceled, returned, or exchanged once placed.

Production and delivery estimates are provided in our FAQ and at checkout. These are estimates and may vary based on printing turnaround, shipping method, destination, holidays, and other factors outside our control. We will send status updates as your order moves through production.

If we cannot ship your order within an advertised timeframe, we will notify you and provide any options required by applicable law. If your book arrives damaged, please follow the instructions in our FAQ so we can review the issue and make it right.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hound & Hudson’s total liability relating to any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our website or purchase of a book.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.

6. Governing Law and Disputes

Except where applicable law requires otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States.

Any dispute arising from these Terms or an order will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

7. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Changes will not retroactively affect orders placed before the revised date, except where required by law.
